Healthcare Doesn’t Need More of the Same. It Needs Transformation.

Healthcare as we know it is not sustainable.
We’re seeing longer surgical wait times, overcrowded emergency departments, limited access to primary care, rising burnout among healthcare workers, and populations becoming progressively less healthy.
And yet, for years, we’ve continued trying to solve these problems the same way.
More funding here.
Budget cuts there.
Small operational changes.
I no longer believe incremental change is enough.
We need to fundamentally rethink healthcare.
Prevention Is Still Our Biggest Untapped Opportunity
During the pandemic, one thing became impossible to ignore.
So many of the critically ill patients I was caring for had underlying metabolic disease.
- Obesity.
- Diabetes.
- Hypertension.
- Frailty.
It became obvious to me that if we truly want to reduce suffering and reduce strain on our healthcare system, we need to become far more proactive.
This realization led to what we now call the PRESS Method:
Purpose
Restoration (sleep + stress management)
Eating well
Strength + exercise
Social connection
Simple principles that, when applied consistently, can dramatically change health trajectories.
We Need to Improve Access to Care
Too many Canadians still do not have access to primary care.
And I see the consequences of that regularly.
Small problems become big problems.
Preventable conditions become ICU admissions.
This is why I’m increasingly excited about solutions using AI, virtual care, remote monitoring, and scalable health coaching models that help people access care earlier.
Not after things fall apart.
Before.
Innovation Must Solve Real Problems
Healthcare innovation isn’t about using flashy technology.
It’s about solving meaningful problems.
Can it improve access?
Can it improve outcomes?
Can it reduce burden on hospitals?
Can it help people stay healthier longer?
That’s the lens I now bring to everything I do.
Whether through prevention, technology, speaking, partnerships, research, or companies focused on improving health outcomes.
Even through companies like Gyata Nutrition, where our goal is simple: give people high-quality tools that support better health and performance.
Why I’m Writing My Next Book
This is exactly why I’m writing my next book:
Opportunities in Healthcare
Innovations, Solutions, and a Path to a Healthier Future for All
Because I’m tired of conversations focused only on what’s broken.
I want to focus on what’s possible.
There are real solutions emerging right now.
And I genuinely believe we are entering one of the most exciting periods of healthcare transformation we’ve ever seen.

I’ve spent years working inside the healthcare system.
Now I want to help transform it.
And I truly believe the future belongs to those willing to think bigger.
Let’s build something better.
